Jaeum and Moeum Co., Ltd. was founded in 1997 with the vision of “collecting” (moeum in pure Korean) all the “letters” (ja in Sino-Korean) and “sounds” (eum in Sino-Korean) of the world. As a cornerstone of the Korean publishing industry, we have launched over 10,000 titles across various imprints, including EZBook for children’s and adolescent literature and Neofiction for genre fiction.
Our publications span a wide range of genres, from literary magazines that champion Korean literature to award-winning novels, humanities books that elevate cultural discourse, and youth literature that fosters intellectual growth. We also produce practical guides designed to enrich everyday life. Beyond publishing, our works have garnered interest from international publishers and media production companies, leading to adaptations across film, television, and stage. Notable titles such as The Killer’s Shopping List, A Shop for Killers, A Christmas Carol, and A Store Selling Time have been successfully adapted, with more projects in development.
Committed to discovering and nurturing new literary voices, we host one of Korea’s largest literary contests, helping shape the next generation of writers. Our signature series have also left a lasting impact. The Jaeum & Moeum Learning Series has sold over 10 million copies, while the Youth Literature Series has been a defining force in adolescent publishing. The Triple Series continues to highlight Korea’s most notable young writers, and the Neofiction “ON” Series has become the go-to collection for film and drama adaptations.
At Jaeum and Moeum, we believe in the power of collaboration between publishers, authors, and readers to create stories that resonate and endure.
